The Experience
Shom has a rich music background, starting in childhood with his sister’s ’80s pop and R&B performances, followed by hip-hop and jungle in the ’90s. This passion led him to collect vinyl and start DJing in 1998.
With over twenty years of performances, he connects with audiences of all ages through his dynamic approach, blending original tracks and mashups suitable for bars and private events.
Shom skillfully reads the crowd’s energy and adapts to client requests and venue guidelines when possible.

Shom has a solid track record of rocking performances at fancy gala events since 2007.
From the REAL IT Awards to the British Journalism Awards and the annual Meetings Show Gala for UK event planners, Shom knows his way around gala events and those glitzy award shows (check out the live DJ sets page for more info).

The Story
Shom started collecting records back in ’95 and got his turntables in ’98. After practicing for a couple of years, he kicked off his DJ career in 2000 by warming up the crowd at the Queen Mary student union bars.
He quickly moved up from those university bars and landed regular DJ gigs in Leicester Square. By 2004, he was already making a name for himself, spinning at some of the various venues in Soho.
DJ SR held down a residency at London’s biggest weekly R&B party for five years.
He’s even played for members of the Royal Family and at fancy corporate events and mansion parties.
– there really isn’t a party scene in London DJ SR hasn’t covered.
