The brief
ActiveOps booked DJ SR for their awards night at Exhibition Way in White City, London, in October 2026, for about 120 guests. It was a last-minute booking through the event agency Hart Wilcox, who had not worked with DJ SR before and trusted him with the night anyway.
There was no formal brief. The client was relaxed and open about the music, so the job was to read the room from the first guest to the last song. The awards walk-ups and stings were run by the company’s own tech team, which left DJ SR free to focus on the music around them. Like most corporate events, the running order moved in the days before, and the set moved with it.
DJ SR brought two outfits: smart-casual for the drinks reception, then a white shirt and suede suit for the main event.

The night
Background music through the drinks reception, then a very open-format set once the awards were done: the kind of music you would hear across Magic, Kiss and Capital. Plenty of 80s, a run of 90s house, a few Michael Jackson classics, a fair few Oasis tunes, a little rock and, a surprise for a corporate crowd, a short UK garage section.
