Case study
Gala awards night, Telford International Centre · 2018 to 2025 · five years, six nights
The event
DJ SR played the SRS gala awards in 2018, 2019, 2023, 2024 and 2025. The gala was organised by Principal Global Events and held at Telford International Centre in Telford, so each year meant a trip up from London.
The first two were in September and the next three in June. In 2025 the gala ran over two days, on a Wednesday and a Thursday, and DJ SR played both nights: six nights in all.
There was no gala in 2020, 2021 or 2022. The organiser moved from one large national event to smaller events held around the country, and the gala came back in 2023.

The night
Between 800 and 1,000 guests came to the gala each year, with usually about 200 of them on the dancefloor. It was always a fun crowd, and always a sing-along one: the kind of room where the dancefloor sings back at you. The clips above are from the nights.
